The singular focus of Raphael Medical today, is to provide online tele-medicine services to consumers who wish to direct their own health care. All our remote medical services are geared towards this goal. We provide medical journal search services, top doctor referrals, second medical opinion services from specialists at America's best hospitals and elsewhere, as well as medical decision support services. Soon, we will also offer a web-based EMR (Electronic Medical Record).

Based on our experience, we believe strongly that our range of tele medicine services will optimize the quality of our clients' care and optimize outcomes, and will also invariably produce cost savings.

Raphael Medical was originally established in 2002 in order to facilitate the international exchange of high quality, specialized medical services. The company is perhaps best known for the leading international Healthcare Across Borders Conferences which it produced in the US, Europe and Latin America.

Dr. Straus is the founder of Raphael Medical, LLC., and has a rich background and expertise in communications and networking, the identification and assessment of innovations in medicine, and patient advocacy services.

Early in his career, Dr. Straus worked as a physician for the Red Cross in the Netherlands and was then recruited by Mallinckrodt, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri. At Mallinckrodt, he served in various positions of increasing responsibility in the Nuclear Medicine Division and in the Corporate Medical Group.

He subsequently established Raphael Medical, LLC.

Dr. Straus received his medical degree from the Vrije University of Amsterdam. He holds an MBA from the Washington University Olin School of Business, and was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.

Born and raised in The Netherlands, and having lived and traveled widely in several continents, he had the opportunity to develop his language skills and cross-cultural sensitivities.

Dr. Straus is actively involved with various not-for-profit organizations in St. Louis where he resides with his family.
